Serene Silhouettes Father's Day Card

In case you were wondering, I am still alive! lol  I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted.  My daughter, Steph, has now graduated from high school, and we had her open house a little over a week ago.  I thought things would get back to normal, but they haven't.  Now, I'm playing math teacher to my son.  He's taking his second semester of Algebra II online, and is having some trouble with it.  It's a little hard to complete an 18 week course in 8 weeks, especially when you have trouble with Algebra.  I'm having to go through the lessons with him so I can re-learn Algebra again.  That way, I can try to help him understand.  It's been 27 years since I took Algebra II, and I think it's harder than it was in my time.  Praying he can get it all done by the deadline!

I'm going to try and post more from here on out, and I should be back to normal by August.  At least, let's hope!  Today's card is the one that I made my hubby for Father's Day.  I'm so in LOVE with this new stamp set, Serene Silhouettes (p. 75).  The greeting came from the set, Teeny Tiny Wishes (p. 133).

I think sponging a sunset is my favorite technique when using silhouette stamps, and I just had to use it on this one.  I put the ink onto the card stock with Sponge Daubers (p. 179).  Starting from the bottom, the colors are Old Olive, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, and Midnight Muse.  Then, I stamped the tree silhouette in Early Espresso ink.  The designer paper I used is a new pack called Comfort Cafe DSP (p. 163).  The More Mustard strip was embossed with the new Fancy Fan Impressions Folder (p. 189).  I also like these new buttons called Naturals Designer Buttons (p. 176).  I think they look great on masculine projects.  Of course, they're good on a lot of other kinds of projects, too!  I attached the button with a Mini Glue Dot (p. 177).  The matted image layer was attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 177).
