Up, Up, & Away Mojo Card

I've actually been able to get a MojoMonday sketch card done on Monday! This week's sketch is MOJO 234. I thought of this stamp set right away for this sketch. It's called Up, Up, & Away (p. 63).  I've only used this once as a Christmas card.  The balloons make perfect ornaments when stamped upside-down.  This is actually the first time I've had a chance to use it as it was intended.  This set is so much fun!  I'm in love!  It's hard to tell in this picture, but the balloons are cut out, and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (p. 206).  The Melon Mambo 1/2" Scalloped Dots Ribbon (p. 195) is just a 4" strip, tied into a single knot, and put on with a Mini Glue Dot (p. 195).  I thought the card needed a little something else, so I add 3 pink flowers to the bottom right corner of the card.  I punched them out of Pink Pirouette card stock with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (p. 210), and put on with Mini Glue Dots.  I then added the medium-sized rhinestones from the Basic Rhinestones Jewels Pack (p. 198) to the center of each flower.

I also wanted to use the Cheerful Treat DSP (p. 11) on this card.  I really like the colors in this paper.  This paper is only available to people who host a workshop, or place at least a $150 order (before shipping & tax).  If you would like to host a workshop to earn this paper and other wonderful things,  JUST LET ME KNOW.  I'm now booking workshop dates for April.

You can also get the paper and other free items by placing at least a $150 (before shipping & tax) order at my ONLINE STORE.  If you place the order by March 31, you can also pick out 3 Sale-A-Bration items for free!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!  I'm posting this pretty late tonight, but I wanted to get these projects posted.  I was hoping to have them posted on Friday, but my back wouldn't allow me to sit too long to work on the last of the projects.  It's feeling so much better, and I finally got everything finished tonight.  It's so good to be able to stamp again!

The first picture below is of all of the projects that will be made at my Hello, Spring! Sneak Peek and Some Mojo

Boy, has this been a week for me!  I was at the Monrovia Elementary Craft & Vendor Fair on Saturday, and it was a good one.  One bad thing is that I messed up my back!  I think I did it when I was lugging my tables in and back out.  The next morning, I went to get a tissue, and felt something pop in my back and instant pain.  I made it through church okay, but began getting worse as the day went on.  Monday morning, I was a little better, so I just took it easy.  By Monday night, it was hurting worse than ever.  Then around 3 a.m. Tuesday, I tried to get out of bed, and that was a big mistake.  I did get out, but then I couldn't straighten back up or even lay back down again.  I was crying and yelling in pain, and scared my whole family awake, including our daughters who are 2 stories above us!  I don't think I've ever been in that much pain before.  My wonderful hubby helped me, and then took Tuesday off work to get me to the doctor.  I really thought my hip was out of joint.  I did find out that I've got Sciatica.  My sciatic nerve has been pinched, and that's why my hip isn't working and hurts so much.  I'm taking steroids to get the swelling down and a muscle relaxer at night to be able to sleep.  I'm still having problems with pain, but it's not even close to what it was.  I'm actually able to get around the house all by myself.  It still hurts if I sit in one place too long, so I haven't been able to stamp as much as I would like.  Well, enough about my week.  Let's get back to stamping!

I made today's card on Monday, but was in too much pain to post it until now.  I used this week's MojoMonday 233 sketch.  A picture of the sketch is above, and my card is below.  I also used some sneak peek products that will be in the upcoming annual catalog, June 1st.  Not only that, they'll also be available to purchase early during the month of April.

The new products are from a new Stampin' Up! suite called "Summer Smooches."  I'm in love with everything in this suite.  The stamp set is called Bright Blossoms.  The coordinating designer paper that I also used is called Summer Smooches DSP, and the coordinating ribbon is Daffodil 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon.  The other product that I used in this suite is called Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brads.  The bad news on this product is that it's NOT going to be in the new annual catalog.  You can only purchase these cute brads during the month of April, so be sure to order them then.  I really like the color combo in this collection, as well.  The colors are Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Lucky Limeade, and Tangerine Tango.  With so many colors, the possibilities are endless!

The greeting came from a current stamp set that is in the current annual catalog called Petite Pairs (p. 164).  The Tangerine Tango strip edge was punched out with the Scallop Edge Border Punch (p. 211), and the whole strip was embossed with the Finial Pressed Impressions Folder (p. 219).

Mixed Bunch Thank You Card

I really like how today's card turned out.  I CASEd it from Lynn at LW Designs.  I love the color combo that she came up with on this card.  I would have never thought to put Cherry Cobbler with Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, & Peach Parfait.  Actually, she used Pear Pizzazz instead of Lucky Limeade, but I wanted the green that was used in the designer paper.  I also didn't use as much designer paper as she did, made the leaves with the Blossom Punch (p. 17 in the Occasions Mini) instead of the Blossoms Builder Punch, and added the Framed Tulip Impressions Folder (p. 218) to the peach layer.

The flower comes from the Mixed Bunch set (p. 17 in the Mini), and the greeting is from my go-to set, Sincere Salutations (p. 160).  I inked the flower first with Peach Parfait ink, and then used the "Rock 'N Roll" technique by rolling the edges of the stamp into Cherry Cobbler ink.  I stamped the flower again on Lucky Limeade card stock in Lucky Limeade ink.  I then cut two of the flower petals off to make the leaves.  The flower is popped up with dimensionals (the leaves are not).

The designer paper is Everyday Enchantment DSP (p. 7 in the SAB brochure).  You can get this designer paper free with a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration (SAB), which ends March 31.  Other items I used that you can get free during SAB are the brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (p. 7 in SAB brochure), and the Designer Frames Impressions Folders (p. 13 in the SAB brochure & p. 215 in the big catty).  The saying was punched out with the XL Oval Punch (p. 212).  I sponged the edges of the oval with Peach Parfait ink before attaching it into the frame.  A more complete list of the supplies I used is below the picture.

Some Mojo Romance

In case you've been wondering, yes, I'm still alive! lol   I've really missed posting, and I'm glad to be able to do it again.  I'm starting off by doing this week's beautiful Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO231).  The sketch is pictured on the right.  The card that I created with this sketch is below.

The flower image is from the Bordering on Romance set (p. 11 in the Occasions Mini).  The saying is from the Kindness Matters set (p. 13 in the SAB brochure and p. 121 in the big catty), and you can get this set free with a $50 order (before shipping & tax) during Sale-A-Bration (SAB).  The designer paper is called Twitterpated DSP (p. 13 in the Occasions Mini), and the coordinating ribbon is Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (p. 12 in mini).  The doily circle was made with the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die (p. 7) from the Occasions Mini as well.  I used a few items from the big catalog, too.  I used an Antique Brad (p. 198) on the tag, Basic Pearls Jewels (p. 198) on the DSP strip and on the flowers, the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch (p. 212), and the Finial Press Impressions Folder (p. 219).  I made the flag end of the DSP strip with the 1-3/8" Square Punch (p. 212).

How do you like the watercoloring?  It's a new technique that I learned, and it's called Marker Layering Technique.  There's a step-by-step tutorial and video tutorial of this technique that Karen Barber made on SCS, and you can find it HERE.  I love this technique.  It really makes me look like I know how to watercolor!  lol  I'll be using this technique a lot, I'm sure!
