Best Wishes Floral Card

Here is one of the cards that was made at my Hello, Spring camp last week.  I CASEd the card from Margaret Moody.  Her card is gorgeous, and I just had to make one myself.  I did change a few things.  I embossed the Primrose Petals layer, used a different paper in the Print Poetry DSP pack for the middle strip, and I used different colored flowers instead of all yellow.

I embossed the 5-1/4" x 4" Primrose Petals layer with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder (p. 189), and then attached it to the Crumb Cake card base.  I cut three strips from different papers in the Print Poetry DSP Pack (p. 16 in Spring Catalog)  The strips measure (from top to bottom) 4-3/4" x 1", 5-1/4" X 1", & 5" x 1".  I punched out the ends of the strips using a corner of the 1" Square Punch (p. 183).  I then attached them to the middle of the card, lining up the straight short side of the strips along the left side of the Primrose Petals layer.

I die-cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS with the third smallest die from the Labels Collection Framelits dies (p. 191).  I die-cut a piece of Gumball Green CS with the Little Leaves Sizzlits die (p. 191).  There are three leaves on the top of the stem.  With the stem bending to the right as shown in the picture, cut off the bottom, right leaf.  Set aside for later.  Attach the rest of the stem to the label as shown.

Punch out a scallop circle from Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit CS using the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch (p. 16 in Spring Catalog).  Cut in-between two scallops, but not all the way to the center.  Skip a scallop, and do the same thing.  There should be two scallops between each cut.  Keep doing this until you've gone all around the circle.  Do the same thing with all of the scallop circles.

Once the cutting is finished, bend the "petals" up to give the scallop circle flowers dimension.  Attach them to the stem with a Glue Dot (p. 177).  Attach the leaf that was set aside earlier under the right side of the Summer Starfruit flower.  Using the Fabulous Phrases stamp set (p. 133), stamp your greeting onto the bottom right of the label with Midnight Muse ink.  Attach the label to the left side of the card, and over the DSP strips.  To finish it off, attach a Dahlia from the In Color Dahlias pack (p. 175) to the center of each flower using a Glue Dot.
