12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween - Week #8

Once again, I'm sorry for getting this posted so late in the day. It's been another busy week. This week's 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween project is a Sunflower Handbag. It's perfect for a little gift or treats.

CPC Men Need Cards Too

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by Boni Montano, and you can see more of her creations on her blog, Stampin' Sweet.

This nautical themed project includes five cards, five note cards, and five mini cards. All cards come with matching envelopes, and are contained in a coordinating box. The cards are blank, but this set includes assorted messages that can easily be attached to a card as needed. This set is a great gift for husbands, brothers, and sons that enjoy writing letters, but have difficulty finding cards without butterflies, flowers, and pastel chevrons.

CPC Howl-o-ween Fun

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by Sue Plote, and you can see more of her creations on her blog, This Pink Rooster.

It’s time for some old fashioned Howl-o-ween Fun!  This project features the Howl-o-ween Treat Stamp Set and the coordinating Boo to You Framelits Dies.  Also highlighted is the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper…and bit of sparkle from Silver and Black Glimmer Paper!  The project set includes a sweet 3 -1/2” x 5” note card and lined envelope…perfect to send out a few spooky words to a friend or loved one!  There’s also a wand for your little one to wave in casting a spell on a friend or foe…and there’s also two games to keep everyone busy.  First up…there’s Trick or Treat Tic-Tac-Toe!  What will you choose?  The crossbones X or the skull O?  Either way it’ll be hauntingly good fun...and fun that you can take with you using the game packaging made featuring the Envelope Punch Board!  Finally, who doesn’t remember the ball-in-the-hole game?  Super easy to make, there’s nothing ghostly about these little games…they’re just good old fashioned fun! And remember, if you don’t celebrate Halloween, this project can be adapted to an any occasion fun set!

Acorny Thank You Square Pillow Box

Today's project is the last of the five projects that will be made at my Holiday Catalog Stamp Camp. I really like the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies. The pillow box die in the set fits perfectly into the new 6" x 6" Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (TIEF), too. I used the new Woodland TIEF on this one. I also used the Acorny Thank You Stamp Set and Acorn Builder Punch. These two items can be purchased together as a bundle at 15% off, too!

Tips:
  1. The pillow box pieces and the window in one of them was die-cut before being embossed.
  2. The window sheet piece was attached on the back side of the front pillow box piece with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  3. The Into the Woods Cotton Ribbon was wrapped around the top of the box, and tied on with a double knot.
  4. The top two acorns were attached together with SNAIL adhesive, and then attached to the pillow box with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. The Gold Metallic Thread was wrapped around my fingers a few times. Once taken off of my hand, I twisted the middle of the loops to keep them together. Then, I lay the thread onto the back of the acorn, and put a Stampin' Dimensional over it to keep it attached. I then added another Stampin' Dimensional underneath it, and attached the acorn to bottom right of the pillow box window.
  6. The right side of the ribbon can be slipped off to open the pillow box. Once open, fill with nuts, and then close again by slipping the ribbon back on.

12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween - Week #7

I'm sorry about posting this so late in the day. It's been a tough week this week. My dear sister-in-law passed away a week ago last night. Her showing was last night and her funeral was today. Needless to say, it's been hard to get things done this whole week. I take comfort in the fact that she's in heaven right now, and no longer in pain. She battled ovarian cancer for 9 years, so it's wonderful to know she's no longer in any pain. I'm sure going to miss her a lot, though. We had cardmaking in common, and I'm sure going to miss making cards with her. She was a wonderful woman!

This week's 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween is a Halloween Tomb Treat Box. I thought trick or treat stamp in the Witches' Night Stamp Set would make a perfect tombstone.

If you look closely, you can see that I stamped the image onto a piece of the spider web paper in the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper. I also used everyone's favorite, the Spider Web Doilies. The "tomb" is actually a drawer where the treats can go.
