Short & Sweet Saturday - Confetti Celebration Sneak Peek

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everyone! This week's Short & Sweet Saturday card is a quick and easy birthday card. The new Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 Annual Catalog starts on Wednesday, and I just had to make this week's card with some of my new goodies!

All of my Short & Sweet Saturday (S&SS) cards are quick and easy to make, so they're perfect if you need to make a card last minute. I always include complete instructions on how to make my Short & Sweet cards, too.

This week's S&SS card features the new sneak peek items...Confetti Celebration Stamp Set, 2016-2018 In Colors Classic Stampin' Pads & Cardstock - Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy, and Sweet Sugarplum, and Playful Palette Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack. I also used the retiring 2-3/8" Scallop Punch. This punch is still available, but it's while supplies last. If they don't sell out, they're available until Tuesday, May 31. When the new catalog comes out, the Layering Circles Framelits can be used.

Card Instructions:
  1. Fold a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Peekaboo Peach Cardstock in half to form the card base.
  2. Attach a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of multi-color brick paper from the Playful Palette DSP to the left side of a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Attach a 1" x 4" piece of Sweet Sugarplum/Very Vanilla dots paper right next to it. Attach around a 5" piece of Basic Black/multi-color dots washi tape from the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape right next to it, wrapping the ends around the Very Vanilla layer, attaching the ends to the back.
  3. Ink the balloon on the balloon stamp from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set with the Peekaboo Peach Classic Stampin' Pad. Ink the string with Tuxedo Black Memento Pad, and then stamp it onto the top of the Very Vanilla layer, centering it in-between the washi tape and the right edge of the Very Vanilla layer. Stamp another balloon to the right and down of the first balloon using the Sweet Sugarplum Classic Stampin' Pad on the balloon, instead.
  4. Attach the layer from step 2 to the center of the card base.
  5. Put a short end of a 5" x 1" piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock into the Banner Triple Punch, and punch. With the punched end on the left, stamp the "let's Celebrate" stamp onto the left side of the strip using the Memento Pad. Attach the banner to the bottom of the card, lining up the right edge of the banner with the right edge of the Very Vanilla layer.
  6. Stamp the "Hooray" stamp onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using the Emerald Envy Classic Stampin' Pad. Punch it out with the 2" Circle Punch.
  7. Punch out a scallop circle from a scrap piece of Emerald Envy Cardstock using the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. Attach the "Hooray" circle to the scallop circle, and then attach it to the right side of the banner with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The supplies list below only shows the items that are available to order now. Once the new catalog goes live, I'll add the new items.

My CPC Butterfly Pizza Box Card Set

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by ME! I had so much fun making this card set!

This card box set has a mini “pizza” box to hold the cards in, and the box is decorated with a pretty butterfly belly band. The box holds a total of six, 4” x 4” cards and coordinating envelopes. This tutorial includes the instructions on how to make the mini “pizza” box, three different card designs (two are made of each), and the envelopes for the 4” x 4” cards. The set features the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set and English Garden Designer Series Paper. This would make a great card class, too.

If you would like to see the complete project, and learn how to make it, you'll want to subscribe for the month of May. With your subscription, you'll get illustrated, step-by-step instructions for 10 wonderful projects for only $10! Sneak Peek Love & Affection Square Card

Happy "hump" day everyone! I don't know about you, but this week is flying by!

Today's card is the first card I've made with the sneak peek products, Love & Affection Stamp Set, Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), Affectionately Yours Washi Tape, Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (TIEF), and Layering Squares Framelits Dies. I attended a meeting that my upline gave for those of us in her downline on Sunday, and this is the card I made for our card swap. It's a 4-1/4" square card, and it will fit in the Medium Envelopes like a regular-sized card.

Card Instructions:
  1. Fold a 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of Watermelon Wonder Cardstock in half to form the card base. The fold on this card is on the top of the card.
  2. Emboss the top, right corner of a 4" x 4" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock by running it through the Big Shot with the flower bunch folder in the Floral Affection TIEF set.
  3. Attach a 4" x 1-1/2" piece of Night of Navy/multi-color floral paper from the Affectionately Yours DSP to the bottom of the Crumb Cake layer. Attach a strip of the Watermelon Wonder striped washi tape from the Affectionately Yours Washi Tape above the DSP layer, wrapping the ends of the tape to the back. Attach the whole thing to the middle of the card base.
  4. Die-cut a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock with the 2-3/8" square die from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies. Die-cut a 3" x 3" piece of Night of Navy with the 2-3/4" scallop square die.
  5. Stamp the "sending a smile..." stamp from the Love & Affection Stamp Set onto the right side of the Whisper White square using the Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad. See pictures for placement.
  6. Stamp the largest flower stamp onto the bottom, left corner of the Whisper White square using the Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the largest flower center stamp into the center of the flower using the Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the smallest, outline leaf stamp onto each side of the flower using the Cucumber Crush Classic Stampin' Pad.
  7. Stamp the second, largest flower stamp onto the top, left corner and the bottom, right corner of the Whisper White square using the Night of Navy ink pad. Stamp the smallest flower center stamp into the center of both Night of Navy flowers using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the smallest, outline leaf stamp onto the top, right of each Night of Navy flower using the Cucumber Crush ink pad.
  8. Stamp the smallest, five-petal flower stamp in-between the top Night of Navy Flower and the Watermelon Wonder flower using the Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the small, four-petal flower stamp in-between the Watermelon Wonder flower and the bottom, Night of Navy flower using the Daffodil Delight ink pad.
  9. Attach the stamped square onto the center of the Night of Navy scallop square, and then attach the whole thing to the center of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The supplies list below only shows the items that are available to order now. Once the new catalog goes live, I'll add the new items.

Swirly Bird Mother's Day Card

Happy Monday, everyone! I'm sorry that I haven't been able to share any of my own creations for awhile. I even missed last Saturday's Short & Sweet Saturday card! I'll have one for you this Saturday!

I never shared the card I made my mom for Mother's Day. I CASEd it from a card Nancy Leedy made. I love the new Swirly Bird Stamp Set & Swirly Scribbles Thinlits! I've already made a few things with them, and plan to make a whole lot more! The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set, and it's retiring. The other retiring items I used is the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack and the Large Oval Punch.

I didn't have time to make a second card, and I don't have this card anymore. I also forgot to write down the dimensions of everything. I'm pretty sure the dimensions I have listed below are correct, though.

Inside of Card
Card Instructions:
  1. Fold a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock in half to form the card base.
  2. Attach a 3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Wisteria Wonder/white heart paper from the Have a Cuppa DSP Stack onto each side of the card base.
  3. The flower layer is a 3-5/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped one of the largest swirl stamps (the one with with less negative space) from the Swirly Bird Stamp Set onto the lower, left side of the piece using the So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad. I then stamped the bold, circular stamp above and right of the So Saffron swirl flower using the Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad. I cleaned the stamp, and stamped it again, below and right of the So Saffron swirl flower using the Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad.
  4. I stamped the splatter stamp using the Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad. I stamped off before stamping it onto the cardstock. I stamped it this way a few more times until I got the desired affect.
  5. I die-cut the largest and smallest swirl dies from the Swirly Scibbles Thinlits Dies from a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of So Saffron Cardstock. The small swirl die fits perfectly in the center opening of the large swirl die, so you don't need a bigger piece of cardstock. I then die-cut the smallest swirl die from a 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Wisteria Wonder Cardstock and another one from a 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock.
  6. I looped some Silver Metallic Thread, and laid it over the Wisteria Wonder image. I held the thread in place, and attached the Wisteria Wonder swirl over the thread and stamped image using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Repeat this step again with the Blushing Bride swirl.
  7. I attached the the large and small So Saffron swirls over the So Saffron image using Stampin' Dimensionals. I used little pieces from scraps around the perimeter of the full-size dimensionals. Cutting the full-size dimensionals in half will work, too.
  8. I die-cut the largest leaf die from a 4" x 1-1/2" piece of Wild Wasabi Cardstock (I had meant to use Pear Pizzazz cardstock, but picked up the wrong color, lol). I stamped the largest leaf vein stamp onto each leaf using the Pear Pizzazz ink pad. I then attached two leaves to both small swirl flowers (see pictures for placement).
  9. I stamped "the best mom ever" stamp from the And Many More Stamp Set onto a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Wisteria Wonder ink pad. I punched it out with the Large Oval Punch, and attached it to the right side of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  10. I attached four (1 large and 3 medium-sized) White Perfect Accents to the card. (I love how these look like water droplets on the white cardstock). See the picture below for placement.
  11. I attached the decorated white layer to a 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of So Saffron Cardstock, and then attached the whole thing to the center of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  12. I painted all three of the small swirls with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it really sets the card off.
  13. The inside of the card:   I stamped the same So Saffron image as on the card front on the top, left corner of the inside of the card.  I then stamped the second, smallest swirl stamp once on the top, right of the swirl flower, and stamped it twice on the bottom left using the Blushing Bride ink pad.  I then stamped the largest leaf stamp once to the right of the top Blushing Bride flower using the Pear Pizzazz ink pad. I then stamped the smallest leaf stamp next to it on the right, using the same ink. I then stamped the smallest leaf stamp again twice,  in-between the other two Blushing Bride flowers.

Note:  The supplies list below only shows the items that are available to order now. Once the new catalog goes live, I'll add the new items.

CPC Card Candy Flip Book

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by Regina Andari.

Create a flip book, complete with elements that flip and open, with card candy that the recipient can remove and use to decorate note and greeting cards.  One of the “flip” elements is a glassine bag that holds twine and jewels to further decorate the cards.  The flip book includes a pocket to hold an instructional note for the recipient, and there’s another pocket to hold additional embellishments, punched or die-cut shapes, stamped sentiments, etc.  This tutorial includes eight assorted card candy decorative layers, including the one on the front of the flip book, which can be lifted from the book and adhered to a card.  This is a fabulous project to make for another stamper/card-maker, and it would also be a great stamp camp project.
