My CPC Bonus - Warmth & Cheer Christmas Ornaments

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by ME!

It’s hard to believe, but it’s time to start making your Christmas projects for this year! This tutorial shows how to make four, festive Christmas ornaments for your Christmas tree. The ornaments feature the Pretty Pines Thinlits, Starlight Thinlits, and the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Pack. These ornaments would also be perfect for decorating the outside of your Christmas gifts. This would make a great Christmas class, too.

If you would like to see and learn how to make this bonus project, you'll want to subscribe for the month of October AND qualify for the bonus project. Bonus projects can be obtained by subscribing to two or more months in a row, putting the Craft Project Central badge on your blog, or by referring a friend and when they subscribe, letting CPC know. With your subscription, and qualifying for the bonus project, you'll get illustrated, step-by-step instructions for 11 wonderful projects for only $10!

Short & Sweet Saturday - Warmth & Cheer Washi Tape Tree

It's time for another Short & Sweet Saturday Card! I CASEd this one from one that Dawn Olchefske made. I loved how she used the washi tape inside the Christmas Card, and I just had to do it myself. I did change it a bit, using the Pretty Paisleys Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) around the tree, using different ribbon, putting the greeting onto an oval, and using all five washi tape rolls in the Warmth & Cheer Designer Washi tape (she used four).

All of my Short & Sweet Saturday (S&SS) cards are quick and easy to make, so they're perfect if you need to make a card last minute. I always include complete instructions on how to make my Short & Sweet Saturday cards, too.

Dimensions:
  • Crumb Cake:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Crumb Cake:  4" x 5-1/4" (base layer)
  • Garden Green:  2-1/2" x 1-1/2" (scallop oval)
  • Whisper White:  2-1/2" x 1-1/2" (greeting oval)
  • Chocolate Chip:  1" x 3/4" (trunk)
  • Gold Glimmer Paper:  Scraps
  • 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack:  6" & 4" (Cherry Cobbler)
Instructions:
  1. Fold the largest Crumb Cake piece in half to form the card base.
  2. Emboss the smallest Crumb Cake piece by running it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine using the Pretty Paisleys TIEF. Make sure to put the embossed frame onto the center of the piece.
  3. Die-cut a tree in the middle of the frame using the pine tree die from the Santa's Sleigh Framelits Dies. The tree die-cut won't be used, so store it somewhere to use on another project someday.
  4. Lay the tree layer onto the center of the card base front, without attaching. Trace around the edges of the tree opening onto the card base using a pencil.
  5. Put a strip of one of the washi tapes from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Washi Tape across the top of the traced tree at a diagonal. Make sure that the ends of the tape go past the pencil marks. Keep adding strips of washi tape until the whole tree is covered. Make sure to use all five washi tapes in the set first, and then repeat until finished. No need to cover the tree trunk up (see the first two pictures below).
  6. Attach the Chocolate Chip to the back of the tree/embossed layer, covering up the tree trunk opening. A little of the piece will show a little above the bottom of the tree opening. Trim this part off (see the last two pictures below).
  7. Wrap the 6" of Cherry Cobbler ribbon around the bottom of the tree layer, covering up the very bottom of the tree trunk. Attach the ribbon ends to the back of the layer using SNAIL Adhesive. Tie the 4" piece to the left side of the attached ribbon using a single knot.
  8. Attach the tree layer to the center of the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  9. Stamp the "Merry Christmas" stamp from the Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set onto the center of the Whisper White piece. Die-cut the greeting out with the 2nd smallest oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Die-cut a scallop oval from the Garden Green piece using the 2nd smallest scallop die. Attach the greeting oval onto it, and then attach it to the right side of the ribbon on the card (using SNAIL Adhesive).
  10. Die-cut a star with the star die from the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits Dies from a scrap piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. Attach the star to the top of the tree using a Mini Glue Dot.

Coming Tuesday, November 1 - Stitched Shapes Framelits and Stamp Set Sale!

On Tuesday November 1, Stampin' Up! is releasing their Stitched Shapes Framelits™ Dies ahead of their scheduled debut in June 2017! Not only are stitches a classic trend, giving a stitched gift illustrates the extra care you’ve taken and how much you value that relationship. With Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies you can turn any project into one that is stitched from the heart.

I'm so excited about these new dies, and I'll be ordering them first thing on Tuesday! I love how stitching looks on cards, but I don't always have the time to add it. With these dies, I can add the stitching as fast as it takes to run the cardstock through the Big Shot!

Not only are these dies available on November 1, Stampin' Up! will have a selection of stamps that work well with these dies at 25% off, and they're listed below! Some are from the Holiday Catalog and some are from the Annual Catalog. If you look at the rectangle "for you" layer on the bag in the picture above, you'll see the dies in action. CPC Star Album with Coordinating Card & Tag

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by Melissa Kerman.

This set of projects is a gift set, photo album and home décor piece for the holidays, all in one. The Star Album has seven unique decorated panels and seven spots for photos. The wide variety of stamps, materials and techniques used make it an extra special gift or home décor item. Some of the panels are simple and others have a lot of detail, but they are all finely crafted to pair with your treasured holiday pictures. The coordinating tag and card can be given separately or the whole ensemble can be given as a gift to one special recipient.

If you would like to see the complete project, and learn how to make it, you'll want to subscribe for the month of October. With your subscription, you'll get illustrated, step-by-step instructions for 10 wonderful projects for only $10! You can find out how to gain access to a bonus eleventh project over at Craft Project Central.

Jar of Cheer - Christmas Candle Card

Happy "Hump" day everyone! Today's Christmas card was made using this month's Creating Pretty Cards Sketch #64 (CPC64). I'm later than usual using the sketch, because I always try to get it done at the beginning of the month. This is the first card I've made using the Jar of Cheer Stamp Set. I love that candle! It's so pretty!

If you play along, and make a card using the sketch, you could win a FREE month subscription to Craft Project Central (CPC). THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR CARD IS THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER 31. We need at least 10 cards submitted to have a winner, and we're at 7 with my card. CPC designers, like me, who submit their card for the sketch go toward the count, but our names are NOT put into the drawing. SO, YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING ARE VERY GOOD! The guidelines for the sketch are listed in the Sketch Post. Once you've made the card and posted it to your blog (or online forum-like Splitcoaststampers), you'll need to post it to the CPC site by using the "Add your Link" button at the bottom of the sketch post.

Dimensions:
  • Cherry Cobbler:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Crumb Cake:  4" x 5-1/4" (embossed, base layer)
  • Whisper White:  2-1/4" x 4-1/4" (jar and bow)
  • Whisper White:  3" x 3/4" (greeting banner)
  • Warmth & Cheer DSP:  5-1/4" x 1" (star paper)
  • 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack:  7" (Cherry Cobbler ribbon)
Instructions:
  1. Fold the Cherry Cobbler piece in half to form the card base.
  2. Emboss the Crumb Cake base layer by running it through the Big Shot using the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  3. Attach the star paper from the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack onto the left side of the Crumb Cake Layer. Wrap the Cherry Cobbler ribbon from the 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon Combo Pack around the right edge of the DSP, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the Crumb Cake layer using SNAIL Adhesive. Attach the whole thing to the card base.
  4. Stamp the jar stamp from the Jar of Cheer Stamp Set onto the bottom of the largest Whisper White piece using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Stamp the candle stamp into the jar using the same ink pad. Watercolor the candle using a Blender Pen and the following Classic Stampin' Pads:  Delightful Dijon (flame), Crumb Cake (candle), Garden Green (leaves), and Cherry Cobbler (berries).
  5. Die-cut the jar out with the largest jar die from the Everyday Jar Framelits. Stamp the jar mouth stamp from the Jar of Cheer Stamp Set onto the top of the jar using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad.
  6. Stamp the bow stamp on the top of the same Whisper White piece using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut the bow out with the bow die from the same Framelits set. Attach the bow to the top of the jar using a Mini Glue Dot. Attach a large rhinestone from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the bow.
  7. Wrap Cherry Cobbler thread from the Metallic Thread Combo Pack around the bottom of your four fingers six times and cut. Twist the thread loops together in the center. Lay the center of the loops (where it's twisted) onto the back of the jar at an angle, making sure the loops can be seen from the front on both sides. Attach it to the jar by putting a Stampin' Dimensional over the twisted part of the metallic thread. Add a Stampin' Dimensional to each corner of the jar, and then attach the jar to the top, left side of the card, over the ribbon.
  8. Punch one end of the small Whisper White strip with the Banner Triple Punch, making sure to center the long sides of the strip with the sides of the narrow, center guide in the punch. With the punched end on the right, stamp the "Merry" stamp onto the right side of the banner. Attach the banner to the right side of the jar, tucking the left end of the banner under the jar.

I'm so sorry that I'm a day late posting this. I did get everything done (minus the supply table) last night, but it was too late to proofread and post. I can't believe this is the last Halloween project for this year's 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween. The weeks sure have flown by!

This cute Halloween Small Candy Bar Pouch features the Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set. I've had SO much fun with this stamp set this year! It's the third 12 Weeks of Fall & Halloween project that has been made with it. Short & Sweet Saturday - Star of Light

It's time for another Short & Sweet Saturday Card! This is similar to a card that was made at my Christmas Stamp-A-Stack earlier this month. I used the beautiful Star of Light Stamp Set and the coordinating dies, Starlight Thinlits Dies. These two items can be purchased together as a bundle at 10% off! I also used the Fancy Frost Sequins to make the card sparkle. This card is beautiful in person. The pictures don't do it justice.

All of my Short & Sweet Saturday (S&SS) cards are quick and easy to make, so they're perfect if you need to make a card last minute. I always include complete instructions on how to make my Short & Sweet Saturday cards, too.

Dimensions:
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock:  3-1/4" x 3-3/4" (large star)
  • Soft Sky Cardstock:  2-1/4'' x 2-1/4" (small star)
Instructions:
  1. Fold the Whisper White Thick Cardstock in half to form the card base.
  2. Open the card back out. Stamp the large swirl stamp from the Star of Light Stamp Set two times across the card front using the Sweet Sugarplum Classic Stampin' Pad (see pictures for placement).
  3. Stamp the "Star of Wonder..." stamp onto the bottom of the card, just to the left of the swirl, using the Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad.
  4. Stamp the star trio stamp, and the two star stamps that are the same design (two different sizes) all around the swirl and greeting using the Soft Sky Classic Stampin' Pad. Fold the card back up again.
  5. Stamp the largest star stamp onto the Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock using the Sweet Sugarplum ink pad. Die-cut the star out with the large star framelit die from the Starlight Thinlits Dies.
  6. Die-cut a star out of the Soft Sky Cardstock using the smallest, detailed star thinlit die.* Get the star out of the die using the Die Brush.
  7. Attach the Soft Sky Star to the center of the Sweet Sugarplum star using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Put a medium-sized rhinestone from the Rhinestone Basic Jewels onto the center of the top star. Attach them to the left side of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  8. Attach four sequins to the card, making sure to use at least one of each color, using Mini Glue Dots.
*Die-cut this star out using the following sandwich when running it through the Big Shot - (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform (with the thin-die adapter), Precision Base Plate, cardstock, wax paper, die, and Standard Cutting Pad.

This set includes two different card designs, and three need to be made of each to fill the cute purse-box that goes with it. This project features the beautiful Petals & Paisleys Suite of products. Make one as a gift, and make another one for yourself. This would also make a great product-based class.

If you would like to see the complete project, and learn how to make it, you'll want to subscribe for the month of October.
