Window Box Tea Light

Here's the last of the four projects that will be made at my Occasions Catalog Stamp Camp next week. I love the Window Box Thinlits, and the Oh So Succulent Bundle is wonderful! Isn't that flower beautiful?

I also put a battery-operated tea light inside of this box. I love how pretty it looks all lit up. Of course, it would make a beautiful gift box, as well.

Dimensions:
  • Early Espresso:  (2) 6-1/4" x 5-3/4" (box pieces)
  • Pear Pizzazz:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (succulent flower)
  • Vellum Cardstock:  6" x 2" (inserts)
  • Lace Doily:  1
Tips:
  1. The flower was made by die-cutting two each the following dies from the Pear Pizzazz piece:  the largest wide-petaled flower die, the middle-sized wide-petaled flower die, and the smallest wide-petaled flower die. The smallest, narrow-petaled flower die needs to be die-cut once, and the vine-like thinlit die needs die-cut three times from the same piece of cardstock. All of the dies come from the Succulent Framelits Dies. The wide flower petals were stamped using the curved-image stamps from the Oh, So Succulent Stamp Set using the Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad.
  2. The flower pieces need to be curved up by rubbing them across the Bone Folder a few times.
  3. The flower was put together with Multipurpose Glue.
  4. The box was put together using Multipurpose Glue, and the Lace Doily was put on the lid using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. The flower was then put on with Multipurpose Glue.
  5. The six vellum squares were made using the #4 square die (the smallest square die is #1) from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies. They were attached to the inside of all six box sides using a Mini Glue Dot on each corner of the vellum squares.
Below is a great video showing how to put the Window Box together:

Short & Sweet Saturday - Beautiful You

Yes, I'm starting my Short & Sweet Saturday cards again! I hate that I haven't been able to do these for awhile. This card was CASEd from a card that Melanie Sicker made. As you can see, I did change a few things, but only a few.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Pencils, but I hate to say, they are unavailable to order right now. 😒 They have been so popular that Stampin' Up! has sold out! They have more coming in, and once they fulfill the backorders, and have some back in stock, they'll become available again. I'll keep you updated!

Dimensions:
  • Crumb Cake:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Island Indigo:  4" x 5-1/4" (base layer)
  • Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack:  3-3/4" x 5"
  • Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon:  6" and 4"
Instructions:
  1. Fold the Crumb Cake piece in half to form the card base.
  2. Stamp the smallest brushstroke stamp from the Beautiful You Stamp Set onto the bottom, left of the DSP layer using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad.
  3. Stamp the lady with umbrella stamp on top of the brushstroke using the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad.
  4. Watercolor the image using a Blender Pen and the following Watercolor Pencils - Bermuda Bay (dress, shoes, and umbrella), Early Espresso (hair and legs), & Calypso Coral (legs).
  5. Stamp the greeting stamp onto the top, right corner of the DSP using the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad.
  6. Attach the DSP layer to the Island Indigo base layer piece.
  7. Wrap the 6" piece of ribbon around the piece, just below the greeting, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the Island Indigo layer using SNAIL Adhesive. Then, attach the whole thing to the center of the card base.
  8. Tie the 4" piece of ribbon onto the left side of the attached ribbon using a single knot.
Tips:
  • The DSP design used in the Serene Scenery DSP Stack is the Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, & Island Indigo brush stroke paper. Make sure the Crumb Cake color is on the bottom.
  • When using the watercolor pencils, first color the image in with the pencils, and then go over it with a Blender Pen to get the watercolor-look. First, color the places that should be darker with the Watercolor Pencils, and then pull the color from them with the Blender Pen to fill the spaces in completely. If it lightens up too much, add more Watercolor Pencil, and then blend it in with the Blender Pen.
  • When watercoloring her legs, first color them with the Calypso Coral pencil, and then lightly color a little Early Espresso pencil on top. Then, blend the colors together with a Blender Pen.

Congratulations Wedding Card

Happy Friday, everyone! I have another card that will be made at my Occasions Catalog Stamp Camp to share with you. This card would make a great wedding card! I used the beautiful So In Love Bundle to make this card. The bundle includes the So In Love Stamp Set and the So Detailed Thinlits Dies. If these two items are purchased together as a bundle, you'll save 10%!

Dimensions:
  • Dapper Denim:  5-1/2" x 6-1/4" (card base)
  • Soft Suede:  5-1/2" x 2" (embossed layer)
  • Very Vanilla:  5-1/2" x 3" (floral die-cut)
  • Dapper Denim:  3-3/4" x 2-3/4" (scallop oval)
  • Very Vanilla:  3-1/4" x 2-1/4" (greeting oval)
  • Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon:  7" and 3"
Tips:
  1. With a 6-1/4" side along the top of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score the card base piece at 5-1/2". Then, fold the piece along the scored line to form the card base.
  2. The Soft Suede piece is embossed with the Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  3. The 7" piece of ribbon was attached across the bottom of the embossed layer, with the ribbon ends attached to the back of it with SNAIL Adhesive. Then, the embossed layer was attached to the small side of the card base.
  4. The sandwich that should be used to die-cut the floral die-cut is as follows:  (starting from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, Precision Base Plate, cardstock, die, and Standard Cutting Pad. The Die Brush was used to get all of the little pieces out.
  5. The "congratulations" stamp from the So In Love Stamp Set was stamped with the Dapper Denim Classic Stampin' Pad, and the vine stamp was stamped with the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad.
  6. The greeting oval was die-cut with the #5 oval die (begin counting with the smallest oval die being #1), and the scallop oval was die-cut with the largest scallop oval die. Both dies come from the Layering Ovals Framelits.
  7. After the greeting oval was attached to the scallop oval, the whole thing was attached to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Stampin' Dimentionals were only put on the top half of the scallop oval.
  8. The 3" piece of ribbon was folded in half, and attached to the bottom, center of the greeting oval with a Mini Glue Dot. Then, the Falling in Love Embellishment was attached to the fold in the ribbon with two Mini Glue Dots.

Dragonfly Thank You Card

Here's another card that will be made at my upcoming Occasions Catalog Stamp Camp. This is the first card I've made with this beautiful bundle! It's called Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, and it includes the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies. When purchasing these two items as a bundle, you save 10%! I also used the very pretty Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Occasions Catalog.

Dimensions:
  • Whisper White Thick Cardstock:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Tip Top Taupe Cardstock:  3-1/4" x 4-1/2" (base layer)
  • Succulent Garden DSP:  4-1/4" x 2" (floral layer)
  • Succulent Garden DSP:  5" x 1-1/2" (gingham layer)
  • Mint Macaron:  2-3/4" x 2-3/4" (circle layer)
  • Whisper White:  3-1/2" x 2-3/4" (dragonfly)
  • Whisper White:  3" x 1-1/4" (greeting)
Tips:
  1. The bokeh-like stamp from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set was stamped a few times before re-inking again. It was stamped with the Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin' Pad. The layer was then attached to the center of the card base.
  2. The floral DSP layer was attached across the bottom of the card. Then, the gingham layer was attached at an angle, and the ends of the DSP that hung over the sides of the card were cut off.
  3. The Mint Macaron piece was die-cut with the second largest circle die in the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. It was then stamped with the splatter stamp from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set using the Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad. Then, it was attached to the right end of the gingham layer.
  4. The dragonfly wings stamp from the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set was inked up with the Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad. Then, the inside ends of the wings were inked up with the Sweet Sugarplum Classic Stampin' Pad and a sponge dauber.
  5. After stamping the wings onto the Whisper White dragonfly piece, the full dragonfly stamp was stamped over it using the Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin' Pad. Then it was die-cut with the dragonfly framelit die in the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.
  6. Wrap the Silver Metallic Thread around four fingers six times, and then cut. The thread was slipped off the fingers, and the center of the thread loop was twisted to form a loop on each end. The thread was laid across the back of the dragonfly at an angle. It was attached by putting a Stampin' Dimensional over the twisted part of the thread. A Stampin' Dimensional was put onto the back of each set of wings, and then attached to the circle.
  7. The greeting was die-cut with the top of the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Only the sides and top edge of the piece will be die-cut. Then, line the bottom edge of the piece with the bottom edge of the die. Run it through the Big Shot to get the stitched look across the bottom side. The greeting was stamped with the Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin' Pad.

Today's Craft Project Central project is designed by Buffy Cooper.

Whether you need a gift for a crafty friend, want to help a new crafter get started with card making, or need to make a quick card yourself, this tote full of card candy is the answer. Using the Falling in Love suite from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, you’ll create several sheets of sentiments and embellishments that can easily be added to a card base to create a beautiful card in minutes. The adorable purse is perfect to hold the card candy and can be used as a gift bag later. An added bonus is a greeting card using some of the candy so the recipient can see how simple it is to create a card. This would make a lovely hostess gift or a fun class or stamp camp.

Cool Treats CPC67 Card

If you play along with this card sketch, you could win a free month subscription to Craft Project Central! Click Here to find out how!

As you can see, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits on this card. I have GREAT NEWS about these dies. They'll be available to order again VERY SOON! Stay tuned! 😊

Dimensions:
  • Pear Pizzazz:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Crumb Cake:  5-1/4" x 4" (base layer)
  • Pool Party:  5" x 1-3/4" (bottom layer)
  • Irresistibly Floral Specialty DSP:  5-1/4" x 2" (circles paper)
  • Watermelon Wonder:  3-3/4" x 2-3/4" (scallop oval)
  • Whisper White:  5" x 3" (stitched oval and ice cream cone)
Card Instructions:
  1. Fold the Pear Pizzazz card base piece in half. Attach the Crumb Cake base layer to the top of the card base.
  2. Attach the Pool Party bottom layer piece to the bottom of the card, making sure the Crumb Cake mat is the same width on the sides and the bottom.
  3. Sponge ink from the Peekaboo Peach Classic Stampin' Pad all over the Designer Series Paper (DSP) piece. Once it's completely covered, wipe the embossed circles with a tissue to remove any excess ink.
  4. Put the popsicle tape from the Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape across the bottom of the DSP piece. Attach the whole thing to the top of the card, making sure the Crumb Cake mat is the same width on the sides and the top. The sides of the Pool Party piece and the DSP piece should also line up.
  5. Die-cut the Watermelon Wonder piece with the largest scallop oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Die-cut the left side of the Whisper White piece with the largest oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.
  6. Stamp the "You're" stamp from the Cool Treats Stamp Set on the left side of the Whisper White oval  using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the "Sweet" stamp underneath "You're" using the Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad.
  7. Stamp the tall, soft-serve ice cream base stamp onto the remaining Whisper White piece using the Peekaboo Peach Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the coordinating swirls stamp on top of the ice cream using the Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the waffle cone stamp onto the same Whisper White piece using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut these two images with their coordinating dies from the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.
  8. Attach the ice cream and cone to the right side of the white oval. Attach this oval to the Watermelon Wonder scallop oval.
  9. Attach a few Sprinkles Embellishments on top of the ice cream using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Tip:  I put a little dot of glue where I want a sprinkle to go. Then, I lay the sprinkle onto the glue, and press the sprinkle down with the glue bottle lid to secure it. If you use your finger, the sprinkle tends to stick to your finger...it doesn't stick the lid. 😊
  10. Attach the whole thing to the right, center of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
