Short & Sweet Saturday - Daisy Delight Flower Field

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everybody! I hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Memorial Day weekend is really big around here. I only live about 30 minutes or so from the Indianapolis 500 track. Since we live so close, we never get to watch the race live on TV. It's always blacked out...except for last year. They did let us watch it live since it was the 100th race. My whole life, every Memorial Day Sunday consists of going to church in the morning, and then listening to the race on the radio. When I was a kid, the race usually took most of the day. My dad would have a radio in every part of the house on so he wouldn't miss a thing. 😁 Nowadays, the race only goes a lot quicker! Boy, they sure drive fast now!

Well, back to Stampin' Up! stuff. Here's this week's Short & Sweet Saturday card. I used the new Daisy Delight Stamp Set again. I love this stamp set! This time, I didn't use the Daisy Punch that coordinates with it.

Speaking of the Daisy Punch, I have some sad news. My fellow demonstrators seem to love this punch as much as I do! Stampin' Up! (SU!) says they normally sell 7,000 of any given stamp in a year. They knew that the Daisy Punch would be popular, so they had 10,000 on hand. In the first 2 weeks of our preorder, we demonstrators ordered 7200! They knew they better order more, so they did. Now, all of the 10,000 have been sold, plus almost 1700 more! It takes awhile for the punches to be produced, so SU! had to make a hard decision. They're going to be putting the punch on the not-orderable list until they get the first shipment in. Thankfully, it should be available to purchase by the end of June.

Dimensions:
  • Pacific Point: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Crushed Curry: 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" (stamped layer mat
  • Whisper White: 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" (stamped layer)
  • Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon: 5" and 4"

Instructions:
  1. Stamp the "thank you" stamp from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set across the top of the Whisper White piece using the Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad.
  2. Stamp the small, daisy outline stamp across the Whisper White piece (below the greeting) around five times using the Berry Burst Classic Stampin' Pad (see picture for placement). Ink the small, daisy bold stamp with the Berry Burst ink pad, stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp it onto the top of one of the daisy outlines (stamp off technique). Stamp the inside of the other four daisies the same way. Stamp the longest stem (with leaves) stamp onto the bottom of each daisy using the Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad.
  3. Stamp the shorter stem stamp across the bottom of the piece, making sure they're all below the daisy flowers. Stamp the coordinating eight-mini flower stamp on top of each stem (lining the flowers with the little branches in the stem) using the Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad (see picture for placement).
  4. Stamp the five, curvy stems stamp across the bottom of the piece using the Tranquil Tide ink pad. Make a few of them shorter than the others. Stamp the coordinating five, vertical flower stamp onto the right side of each stem in a stem-bunch using the Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad. Do the same to each stem-bunch (see picture for placement).
  5. Attach the stamped piece onto the center of the Crushed Curry mat piece. Wrap the 5" piece of Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon around the bottom of the piece, attaching the ribbon ends to the back of the Crushed Curry piece. Tie the 4" piece to the right side of the attached ribbon using a single knot. Fold the Pacific Point card base in half. Attach the piece to the center of the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Note:  The ribbon used is called Pacific Point 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon. I can't get it to show on my supply list below, but I should be able to get it added after June 1.

Wood Words Thank You Card

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today I want to share the card that will be made at my New Catalog Debut Open House the first weekend in June. I used the new stamp set, Wood Words. I love the country feel of this stamp set, and it coordinates so well with the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. I also used the new 2017-2019 In Colors, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide. I also used the beautiful, new Copper 1/4" Trim.

Dimensions:
  • Fresh Fig: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Very Vanilla: 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" (base layer) and 5" x 1-1/2" (die-cuts)
  • Crumb Cake: 5" x 3-3/4" (framed layer)
  • Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack: 5" x 1-1/2" (wood layer)
  • Fresh Fig 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon: (2) 1-1/2"
  • Copper 1/4" Trim: (2) 1-1/2"

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Fresh Fig card base in half. Attach the Wood Textures DSP along the bottom of the Crumb Cake layer. Die-cut an oval out of the center of this piece using the second largest oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.
  2. Lay the oval frame piece onto the center of the Very Vanilla base piece. Trace around the center of the oval opening, onto the Very Vanilla layer, lightly using a pencil. Remove the oval frame piece.
  3. Brush the Embossing Buddy across the Very Vanilla layer to remove any moisture. Stamp the floral stamp from the Wood Words Stamp Set onto the Very Vanilla layer, within the traced oval, using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss the image with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder (pour emboss powder over image, tap off excess powder, heat the powder, until melted & shiny, with the Heat Tool). Erase the pencil marks. Color the outline flowers in with the Fresh Fig marker from the 2017-2019 In Color Stampin' Write Markers. Color in the outline leaves with the Tranquil Tide marker from the same set. Attach the piece to the center of the card base front with SNAIL Adhesive.
  4. Wrap one of the Fresh Fig ribbon pieces around the left side of the oval frame, just above the DSP, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the Crumb Cake cardstock. Wrap one of the Copper trim pieces around the center of the Fresh Fig ribbon, attaching the trim ends to the back of the Crumb Cake piece. Repeat this step again to do the right side of the frame. Attach the whole thing to the center of the Very Vanilla layer on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Make sure to put four Stampin' Dimensionals around the oval frame, as well as the corners of the piece.
  5. Stamp the rooster stamp onto the Very Vanilla die-cuts piece using the Fresh Fig Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut it out with the rooster die from the Wood Crate Framelits Dies. Stamp the "thank you" stamp onto the same piece using the Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut the words out with the tag die from the same die set. Stamp the circle stamp onto the same piece using the Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. Punch the circle out with the 1" Circle Punch.
  6. Attach the circle and tag to the bottom, right of the oval frame. Attach the rooster to the right of them, using a Stampin' Dimensional (see picture for placement).

The Wood Words Stamp Set and Wood Crate Framelits can be bought as a bundle at 10% off, when the new annual catalog comes out on June 1. I'll get a link to it added once the catalog goes live.

Short & Sweet Saturday - Lovely Inside & Out

Happy Saturday, everyone! Well, it's time for another Short & Sweet Saturday Card. I'm using a few sneak peek products from the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. I'm using the Lovely Inside & Out Bundle which includes the Lovely Inside & Out Stamp Set and Lovely Words Thinlits Dies. I also used a new In Color, Lemon Lime Twist in the following products - Classic Stampin' Pad, Cardstock, 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon, & 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows.

I also used this month's Creating Pretty Cards Sketch #71. If you play along, you could win a free, month subscription to Craft Project Central (CPC)! With every 10 cards submitted, a winner will be drawn. When a CPC designer submits a card, their card counts towards the 10, but their name is not entered in the drawing. We would love for you to play along! You'll need to hurry, though. The last day to submit a card is May 31! CLICK HERE to get all the dos and don'ts of the sketch.

There are a few items that wouldn't add to the supply list below, but I'll get them added when the new catalog goes live.

Dimensions:
  • Thick Whisper White: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Lemon Lime Twist: 5-1/4" x 4" (base layer) & 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" (stamped layer mat)
  • Pool Party: 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" (embossed layer)
  • Whisper White: 2"x 4" (stamped layer) & 3-1/2 x 2-1/2" (base oval)
  • Peekaboo Peach : 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" (greeting oval)
  • Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon: 7"

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Thick Whisper White card base in half. Emboss the Pool Party piece by running it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine with the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach this piece to the center of the Lemon Lime Twist base layer. Wrap the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon around the center of piece, attaching the ribbon ends to the back of the Lemon Lime Twist layer with SNAIL Adhesive. Attach the whole thing to the card base.
  2. Stamp the large, circular stamp from the Lovely Inside & Out Stamp Set randomly over the Whisper White stamped layer using the Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, & Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pads (see picture for placement). Attach it to the center of the Lemon Lime Twist stamped layer mat piece, and attach it to the card, a little right of center (see picture).
  3. Die-cut an oval from the Whisper White base oval piece using the #6 oval die (with the smallest die being #1) from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Stamp the raindrop-like design stamp all over it using the Pool Party ink pad.
  4. Die-cut the greeting oval out of the Peekaboo Peach piece using the friend oval die from the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies. Attach it to the stamped oval from Step 3 using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Attach the whole thing to the bottom, right corner of the card. Attach a Lemon Lime Twist bow from the 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows to the bottom, right of the oval.
  5. Attach a medium-sized enamel dot from the White Perfect Accents to the top, right corner of the stamped piece. Attach two small enamel dots from the same pack to the bottom, left, corner of the same piece (see picture for placement).

Lovely Friends Meets High Tide - Anniversary Card

My husband and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary on May 7, and this is the card I made for him. I used a new stamp set that will be in the upcoming annual catalog on June 1st. I loved the "You make me ridiculously happy" stamp in the new Lovely Friends Stamp Set, and I just had to use it on Ken's card. I also love the High Tide Stamp Set, and I was so happy that I was able to put these two great sets together. I'm so glad this Occasions Catalog stamp set made it into the new annual catalog!

Dimensions:
  • Dapper Denim: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Very Vanilla: 4-3/4" x 4" (main image layer)
  • Sahara Sand: (2) 3/4" x 4" (embossed strips)
  • Copper Foil Sheets: (2) 1/2" x 4"
  • Very Vanilla:  5-1/4" x 4" (inside of card)

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Dapper Denim piece in half to form the card base.
  2. Emboss both Sahara Sand strips by running them through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine with the Cable Knit 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Use the following sandwich when running through the Big Shot...(starting from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, embossing folder with the cardstock inside, and Standard Cutting Pad. Attach the strips on each end of the card. The top and bottom edges should be centered between the top and bottom edges of the card.
  3. Stamp the outline-like lighthouse stamp from the High Tide Stamp Set onto the left side of the Very Vanilla main image layer using the Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the bolder lighthouse stamp on top of the first one using the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the beach sand stamp underneath the lighthouse, lining the opening in the sand with the bottom of the lighthouse, using the Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the double grass bunch stamp onto the right side of the sand using the Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad.
  4. Using the stamp-off technique (ink the stamp, stamp onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp onto the cardstock), stamp the water stamp onto the right side of the beach using the Dapper Denim Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the lined, triangular stamp into the little un-stamped triangle area between the sand and the top of the water image using the same ink pad (use the stamp-off technique here, too).
  5. Put a post-it note on top of the lighthouse, lining an edge of the note with the right edge of the lighthouse. This prevents ink from the water stamp from going onto the lighthouse. Stamp the water stamp onto the right side of the lighthouse twice to reach the right edge of the cardstock, using the stamp-off technique and the Dapper Denim ink pad. Move the post-it note so an edge is lined up with the left edge of the lighthouse. Stamp the water stamp one more time the same as before.
  6. Rub the Embossing Buddy across the whole stamped piece to take the moisture out of the cardstock. Stamp the "You Make Me..." stamp from the Lovely Friends Stamp Set onto the top, right side of the piece using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss the greeting by pouring Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder all over the greeting, tapping off the excess powder, and melting the powder with the Heat Tool. The powder is melted once it's shiny. Stamp the flying birds stamp from the High Tide set a couple times on the card using the Basic Gray ink pad (see first picture for placement).
  7. Attach a Copper Foil strip onto the back of each end of the Very Vanilla piece, letting about 1/8" show on each side. Attach the whole thing to the center of the card, using Stampin' Dimensionals. The top and bottom edges should line-up with the top and bottom edges of the embossed strips.
  8. Stamp the right end of the beach sand stamp onto the bottom, left corner of the Very Vanilla inside layer using the Sahara Sand ink pad. Stamp the seagull stamp on top of the sand using the Basic Gray ink pad. Stamp the "love" stamp from the Lovely Friends set onto the right side of the sand using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad. Stamp the "happy anniversary" stamp from the So in Love Stamp Set onto the right side of the piece, and above "love", using the Dapper Denim ink pad (see second picture for placement). Attach the piece onto the inside of the card.

Inside of card.

Daisy Delight Mother's Day Card

I hope all of you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday! Now that my mom has received her card, I can share it with you. I had so much fun making Saturday's card that I just had to make another one using the Daisy Delight Bundle. I also love Wisteria Wonder & Daffodil Delight colors together. I haven't used Wisteria Wonder for awhile, and I'm so glad I've found a color combo I like with it. The colors listed with the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) doesn't include Wisteria Wonder or So Saffron, but these colors are definitely in the sheet of paper I used. They match perfectly with colors in the paper. My inspiration for this card was one that I saw on Pinterest, and you can find it HERE.

Dimensions:
  • Daffodil Delight: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base) & 4" x 3-3/4" (main image layer mat)
  • Wisteria Wonder: 4" x 5-1/4" (embossed layer)
  • So Saffron: 6" x 3" (flower)
  • Whisper White: 4" x 3-1/2" (main image layer)
  • Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4" x 1" (small, multicolor floral paper)
  • Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon: 6" & 4"

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Daffodil Delight card base in half.
  2. Run the Wisteria Wonder layer through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  3. Stamp the large daisy stamp from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set onto the So Saffron piece two times using the Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad. Punch both flowers out with the Daisy Punch. Attach the flowers together with a Stampin' Dimensional (dimensional goes onto the back of the flower center of the top flower). Make sure to stagger the petals before attaching.
  4. Attach the DSP layer across the bottom of the Whisper White piece. Stamp the "Mother's Day" stamp from the Circle of Spring Stamp Set onto the top, right corner of the piece using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Stamp the leaf outline stamp from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set onto the top, left corner of the Whisper White piece using the Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad. Ink the solid leaf stamp with the Old Olive ink pad, stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp it on top of the leaf outline. Lay the flower down onto the left side of the piece, lining it up with the leaf. Figure out where the next two leaves need to go, and stamp them the same way as the first. Make sure to take the flower out of the way before stamping. Attach the whole thing across the center of the Daffodil Delight main image layer mat piece. Attach the whole thing to the Wisteria Wonder embossed layer (see picture for placement).
  5. Wrap the 6" piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon around the piece, just above the DSP, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the Wisteria Wonder layer. Then attach the whole thing to the center of the card front.
  6. Attach the flower to the card, lining it up with the stamped leaves, using SNAIL Adhesive. Attach a large faceted gem from the Clear Faceted Gems to the center of the flower. Tie the 4" piece of ribbon onto the right side of the attached ribbon using a single knot. Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.

  6. Attach the flower to the left side of the card, over the ribbon, using SNAIL Adhesive. Attach a large faceted gem from the Clear Faceted Gems to the center of the flower.
