Short & Sweet Saturday - Lots of Love

I can't believe it's time for another Short & Sweet Saturday (S&SS) card! This past week has flown by! I haven't had a chance to use my Lots of Love Stamp Set, so I decided to use it for today's card. This card came together so fast! It can easily be customized by changing the greeting to the one you need.

Dimensions:
  • Tangerine Tango: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Basic Black: 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" (main image mat)
  • Whisper White: 4-1/4" x 3" (main image)
  • Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5-1/4" x 4"
  • Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon: 7" & 10"

Instructions:
  1. Wrap the 7" piece of Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon around the center of the DSP piece, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the DSP using SNAIL Adhesive. Fold the Tangerine Tango card base piece in half to form a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base. Attach the DSP piece to the center of the card base.
  2. When stamping the flowers, flower buds, and leaves onto the Whisper White main image piece, you'll need to stamp-off before stamping onto it. Stamping off is when you ink the stamp, stamp it onto a piece of scrap paper, and then stamp onto the card stock. Stamp the large flower stamp from the Lots of Love Stamp Set using the Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin' Pad, stamp the trio flower bud stamp using the Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad, and stamp the double-leaf stamp using the Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad. Refer to the picture for stamping placement.
  3. Stamp the "sending lots of love" stamp onto the center of the main image piece using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Attach the piece to the center of the Basic Black main image mat piece. Then, attach it to the center of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  4. Tie the 10" piece of Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon into a bow. Trim the ribbon ends at an angle, and attach it to the top, left corner of the main image layer using two Mini Glue Dots.

Happy Monday, everyone! Today's card was made using this month's Creating Pretty Cards Sketch #73 at Craft Project Central. This sketch is so much fun! I love the blocked background. I used the beautiful Graceful Garden Stamp Set and it's coordinating Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.

Dimensions:
  • Old Olive: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Rich Razzleberry: 4" x 5-1/4" (base layer) and 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" (scallop oval)
  • Whisper White: 5" x 2-1/4" (flower and oval)
  • Petal Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack: (beginning from the top, left corner, and then going clockwise) 1-1/4" x 1-1/4", 2-1/4" x 3-1/2", 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" and 1-1/4" x 3-1/2"

Instructions:
  1. Lay the Petal Garden DSP pieces onto Rich Razzleberry base layer as shown in the picture above. Once they're laid out, attach each one to the Rich Razzleberry piece using SNAIL Adhesive. Fold the Old Olive card base piece in half, and then attach the Rich Razzleberry/DSP piece to the center of the card.
  2. Die-cut an oval from one end of the Whisper White piece using the second, largest oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Stamp the "I adore you" stamp from the Graceful Garden Stamp Set onto the right side of the oval using the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut a scallop oval from the Rich Razzleberry scallop oval piece using the third, largest scallop oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Attach the Whisper White oval onto the center of the scallop oval.
  3. Stamp the small rose stamp onto the other end of the Whisper White piece using the Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad. Color the rose in with the Calypso Coral pencil and the leaves in with the Old Olive pencil from the Watercolor Pencils. Brush a Blender pen over the pencil coloring to smooth out the lines. Add more color in the places that should be darker on the rose and leaves, and blend the colors with the Blender Pens. Fussy cut the rose out using Paper Snips. Attach the rose to the left side of the oval.
  4. Wrap Copper Metallic Thread around four fingers about 6 times. Remove the thread from fingers, and twist the middle of the thread loops in the center. Hold the twisted part of the thread loops onto the back of the left side of the scallop oval, and attach it to the oval by putting a Stampin' Dimensional over the twisted part of the thread. Spread the loops out on each end (see picture). Put three more Stampin' Dimensionals onto the back of the scallop oval, and attach it to the top, center of the card.
  5. Attach three small gems from the Clear Faceted Gems to the bottom, right corner of the card.

Short & Sweet Saturday - Ribbon of Courage

Here's my Short & Sweet Saturday card for the week. This was one of the cards that was made at my stamp camp last Thursday. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but the ribbon is glittery, because it has Clear Wink of Stella on it. It's so pretty in person! This card features the Ribbon of Courage Bundle and Bundle of Love Designer Series Paper.

Dimensions:
  • Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock; 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Blushing Bride: 4-1/4" x 2" (embossed layer) and 3-1/4" x 2" (label mat)
  • Very Vanilla: 6-1/2" x 2-1/2" (ribbon, label, & heart)
  • Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP): 5" x 1"

Instructions:
  1. With an 8-1/2" side along the top, score the Thick Very Vanilla card base piece at 4-1/4". Fold the card base piece in half, along the score line. Note: Thick cardstock needs to be scored in order to get a clean fold. Folding without scoring first puts creases where you don't want them.
  2. Emboss the Blushing Bride embossed layer piece by running it though the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Attach it to the bottom of the Very Vanilla card base using SNAIL Adhesive. Attach the Bundle of Love DSP piece across the top of the embossed layer, putting it down at an angle (see picture). Make sure some of the DSP is hanging over the edge of the card on both sides. Once it's attached, cut off the ends of the DSP that are hanging over the edges of the card.
  3. Stamp the "Live every moment..." stamp from the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set onto the Very Vanilla piece using the Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad. Punch the greeting out with the Pretty Label Punch. Punch another label out with the same punch from the Blushing Bride label mat piece. Cut the Blushing Bride label in half, long-wise. Attach one label half onto the back of the top half of the greeting label, making sure the top and sides of the Blushing Bride label half show from the front. Attach the other half to the back of the bottom half of the greeting label the same way. Attach it to the card (see picture for placement).
  4. Stamp the small heart stamp onto the same Very Vanilla piece using the Basic Gray ink pad. Color the flower in the heart with the Blushing Bride marker, the flower center in with the So Saffron marker, and the leaf in with the Pear Pizzazz marker...all from the Subtles Collection Stampin' Write Markers. Die-cut the heart out with the small heart die from the Support Ribbon Framelits Dies, and attach it to the left side of the greeting label with a Mini Glue Dot.
  5. Stamp the ribbon stamp onto the same Very Vanilla piece using the Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut the image out with the large ribbon die. Brush the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush all over the ribbon. Then, attach the ribbon to the right side of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

50th Wedding Anniversary Card

My parents' 50th Anniversary was this past Saturday, and they're in the British Isles celebrating! I made this card for them before they left over a week ago, since they were going to be out of town. They really liked it.

I used the Number of Years Stamp Set, along with the Detailed Floral Thinlits. I really like how it turned out.

Dimensions:
  • Thick Very Vanilla: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Gold Foil Paper: 4" x 5-1/4" (base layer) & 3" x 4" (oval mat)
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5-1/4" (die-cut background), 8-1/2" x 1-3/4" (numbers and banners), & 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" (oval)
  • Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon: 6" (strip) & 12" (bow)

Instructions:
  1. Score the Thick Very Vanilla piece at 5-1/2" (8-1/2" along the top). Fold the card in half. Tip: Thick cardstock doesn't fold well without scoring.
  2. Remove the top sheet from the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. Place the Very Vanilla background piece onto the adhesive sheet. Die-cut the piece with both floral dies from the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies. The smaller one goes on top, and the larger one goes on the bottom. Run everything through the Big Shot using the following sandwich: (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Precision Base Plate, cardstock w/ adhesive, dies, and Standard Cutting Pad. Once die-cut, remove the backing from the adhesive sheet, and attach it to the Gold Foil Paper base layer. Wrap the 6" strip of Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon across the middle of the solid section of the piece, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the cardstock using Fast Fuse Adhesive. Then, attach the whole piece to the center of the card base.
  3. Die-cut the Very Vanilla oval piece with the second largest oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Die-cut the Gold Foil oval mat piece with the largest oval die. Brush the Embossing Buddy all over the top of the Very Vanilla oval. Stamp the "Happy" stamp from the Number of Years Stamp Set onto the top of the Very Vanilla oval using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss it by pouring Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder (EP) all over the word, tap the excess powder off, and melt the powder with the Heat Tool. You'll know it's melted when the powder becomes shiny and smooth. Attach the Very Vanilla oval to the center of the Gold oval.
  4. Brush the Embossing Buddy all over the top of the Very Vanilla numbers and banner piece. Stamp the "5" and the "0" stamps onto the left side of the piece using the VersaMark Pad. Stamp the "th" stamp and the "Anniversary" stamp onto the right side of the piece using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss them all with Gold EP (refer to Step 3). Die-cut the numbers out with their coordinating dies from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. Die-cut the "th" out with the mini banner die and "Anniversary" out with the long banner die. Use the following sandwich when die-cutting: (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pad, cardstock, die, and Standard Cutting Pad.
  5. Attach the "5", "0", and "th" banner to the oval using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach the "Anniversary" banner onto the bottom of the oval using Fast Fuse Adhesive. Attach the oval to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals (see picture for placement).
  6. Tie the 12" ribbon piece into a bow. Attach the bow to the top of the oval using two Mini Glue Dots. Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.

Short & Sweet Saturday - Paint Play Birthday Card

It's Saturday, and that means it's time for another Short & Sweet Saturday card. Sorry I missed last week. I hurt my back last week. I'm not sure what I did, but it was hurting me pretty bad. With that, and 4th of July stuff going on around our house, I wasn't up to doing any work. My back still isn't back to normal, but it's much better than last week!

This card features the new stamp set, Paint Play. This is another one of those stamp sets that can create many different looking images...a little like the Work of Art Stamp Set. I can't wait to "play" with it more!

FYI:  I found out what was going on with my printable versions of my card instructions for some of you. The older versions of Adobe Reader weren't able to print them because of a setting I was using. The newest version of Adobe was compatible, so it worked right for those of you that had it. The problem has now been fixed on ALL of them, so they should now work for everyone. If you were having trouble getting them to work before, you should be able to go back and print them now.

Dimensions:
  • Crushed Curry: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (card base)
  • Pear Pizzazz: 5-1/4" x 4" (embossed base layer)
  • Basic Black: 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" (main image mat)
  • Whisper White: 4" x 2-3/4" (main image)
  • Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2" x 4"

Instructions:
  1. Fold the Crushed Curry card base piece in half. Emboss the Pear Pizzazz layer by running it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The 3D folders are thick, so the sandwich to use when running them through the Big Shot is: (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, single sheet of paper inside the folder, and a Standard Cutting Pad. Attach the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP piece onto the left side of the embossed layer, and then attach it all to the card base.
  2. Stamp the large, circular stamp from the Paint Play Stamp Set onto the bottom, left and top, right corners of the Whisper White piece using the Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the mini-dotted stamp onto the center of each flower using the Basic Black Archival Stampin' Pad. Stamp the largest leaf stamp onto each side of the flowers using the Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin' Pad.
  3. Stamp the six-petal flower stamp next to the leaves of the bottom flower using the Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the small, circular stamp onto the center of each of these flowers using the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad. Stamp the mini-dotted stamp in-between the Crushed Curry flowers and on each outer side of these flowers using the Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad. Ink the small, circular stamp with the Pool Party ink pad, stamp it onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamp over the Pool Party dots. Do the same with the other two.
  4. Stamp the little leaf stamp onto the flowers stamped in Step 3 using the Pear Pizzazz Classic Stampin' Pad. See picture for placement.
  5. Stamp the "Happy" stamp onto the Whisper White piece using the Basic Black ink pad. Stamp the "birthday" stamp onto the bottom, right of "Happy" using the Tangerine Tango ink pad. See picture for placement. Attach a medium-sized and a small-sized dot from the White Perfect Accents onto the piece. See picture for placement. Attach the stamped layer onto the Basic Black piece. Then, attach it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
