50th Wedding Anniversary Card

My parents' 50th Anniversary was this past Saturday, and they're in the British Isles celebrating! I made this card for them before they left over a week ago, since they were going to be out of town. They really liked it.

I used the Number of Years Stamp Set, along with the Detailed Floral Thinlits. I really like how it turned out.

Dimensions:
  • Thick Very Vanilla: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Gold Foil Paper: 4" x 5-1/4" (base layer) & 3" x 4" (oval mat)
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5-1/4" (die-cut background), 8-1/2" x 1-3/4" (numbers and banners), & 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" (oval)
  • Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon: 6" (strip) & 12" (bow)

Instructions:
  1. Score the Thick Very Vanilla piece at 5-1/2" (8-1/2" along the top). Fold the card in half. Tip: Thick cardstock doesn't fold well without scoring.
  2. Remove the top sheet from the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. Place the Very Vanilla background piece onto the adhesive sheet. Die-cut the piece with both floral dies from the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies. The smaller one goes on top, and the larger one goes on the bottom. Run everything through the Big Shot using the following sandwich: (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Precision Base Plate, cardstock w/ adhesive, dies, and Standard Cutting Pad. Once die-cut, remove the backing from the adhesive sheet, and attach it to the Gold Foil Paper base layer. Wrap the 6" strip of Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon across the middle of the solid section of the piece, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the cardstock using Fast Fuse Adhesive. Then, attach the whole piece to the center of the card base.
  3. Die-cut the Very Vanilla oval piece with the second largest oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Die-cut the Gold Foil oval mat piece with the largest oval die. Brush the Embossing Buddy all over the top of the Very Vanilla oval. Stamp the "Happy" stamp from the Number of Years Stamp Set onto the top of the Very Vanilla oval using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss it by pouring Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder (EP) all over the word, tap the excess powder off, and melt the powder with the Heat Tool. You'll know it's melted when the powder becomes shiny and smooth. Attach the Very Vanilla oval to the center of the Gold oval.
  4. Brush the Embossing Buddy all over the top of the Very Vanilla numbers and banner piece. Stamp the "5" and the "0" stamps onto the left side of the piece using the VersaMark Pad. Stamp the "th" stamp and the "Anniversary" stamp onto the right side of the piece using the VersaMark Pad. Heat emboss them all with Gold EP (refer to Step 3). Die-cut the numbers out with their coordinating dies from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. Die-cut the "th" out with the mini banner die and "Anniversary" out with the long banner die. Use the following sandwich when die-cutting: (beginning from the bottom) Big Shot Platform, Thin Die Adapter, Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pad, cardstock, die, and Standard Cutting Pad.
  5. Attach the "5", "0", and "th" banner to the oval using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach the "Anniversary" banner onto the bottom of the oval using Fast Fuse Adhesive. Attach the oval to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals (see picture for placement).
  6. Tie the 12" ribbon piece into a bow. Attach the bow to the top of the oval using two Mini Glue Dots. Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.
