Creating Pretty Card Sketch #73 - Graceful Garden

Happy Monday, everyone! Today's card was made using this month's Creating Pretty Cards Sketch #73 at Craft Project Central. This sketch is so much fun! I love the blocked background. I used the beautiful Graceful Garden Stamp Set and it's coordinating Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.

I hope you'll play along with this versatile card sketch. With every 10 cards submitted, a winner will be drawn for a FREE month subscription to Craft Project Central! If CPC project designers, like me, submit a card for your inspiration this month, they won’t be in the winner random-selection pool, but their cards will count towards the “for every 10 cards submitted winner total. We've already reached the first 10, so let's try and make it to 20 in order to get TWO winners! You must submit your card by July 31, 2017. CLICK HERE to get all of the dos and don'ts of the sketch!  GOOD LUCK!

Dimensions:
  • Old Olive: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Rich Razzleberry: 4" x 5-1/4" (base layer) and 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" (scallop oval)
  • Whisper White: 5" x 2-1/4" (flower and oval)
  • Petal Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack: (beginning from the top, left corner, and then going clockwise) 1-1/4" x 1-1/4", 2-1/4" x 3-1/2", 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" and 1-1/4" x 3-1/2"

Instructions:
  1. Lay the Petal Garden DSP pieces onto Rich Razzleberry base layer as shown in the picture above. Once they're laid out, attach each one to the Rich Razzleberry piece using SNAIL Adhesive. Fold the Old Olive card base piece in half, and then attach the Rich Razzleberry/DSP piece to the center of the card.
  2. Die-cut an oval from one end of the Whisper White piece using the second, largest oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Stamp the "I adore you" stamp from the Graceful Garden Stamp Set onto the right side of the oval using the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad. Die-cut a scallop oval from the Rich Razzleberry scallop oval piece using the third, largest scallop oval die from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. Attach the Whisper White oval onto the center of the scallop oval.
  3. Stamp the small rose stamp onto the other end of the Whisper White piece using the Basic Gray Archival Stampin' Pad. Color the rose in with the Calypso Coral pencil and the leaves in with the Old Olive pencil from the Watercolor Pencils. Brush a Blender pen over the pencil coloring to smooth out the lines. Add more color in the places that should be darker on the rose and leaves, and blend the colors with the Blender Pens. Fussy cut the rose out using Paper Snips. Attach the rose to the left side of the oval.
  4. Wrap Copper Metallic Thread around four fingers about 6 times. Remove the thread from fingers, and twist the middle of the thread loops in the center. Hold the twisted part of the thread loops onto the back of the left side of the scallop oval, and attach it to the oval by putting a Stampin' Dimensional over the twisted part of the thread. Spread the loops out on each end (see picture). Put three more Stampin' Dimensionals onto the back of the scallop oval, and attach it to the top, center of the card.
  5. Attach three small gems from the Clear Faceted Gems to the bottom, right corner of the card.
