Short & Sweet Saturday - Winter Wonder Meets Cheers to the Year

Welcome to this week's Short & Sweet Saturday Card! It's time to start planning your Christmas cards, so I'm sharing a Christmas one to help you out.

It's so hard to get a good picture of shiny/glittery cards. This one is so much prettier in person! It doesn't take too long to make, either! It's hard to tell, but I de-bossed the snowflake with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This card shows off a few metallic colors...Champagne, Gold, and Silver.

My inspiration for this card was from one I found on Pinterest. The pin only takes you to a picture of the actual card, and you can see it HERE.

Dimensions:
  • Thick Whisper White:  8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (card base)
  • Whisper White:  4" x 5-1/4' (base layer), 2" x 2" (greeting circle), and 5" x 3/4" (banner)
  • Champagne Foil Sheets:  4" x 3" (snowflake de-bossed layer)
  • Gold Glimmer Paper:  2-1/4" x 2-1/4" (scallop circe)
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP):  4" x 2" (gold/silver snowflakes paper)
  • Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon:  6"
  • Foil Snowflakes:  1/2 gold snowflake
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape:  Gold - 6" & Silver - 6"
Instructions:
  1. Attach the narrow, gold washi tape from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape across the top edge of the Whisper White base layer piece. Attach the narrow, silver washi tape across the bottom edge of the piece. Attach the DSP piece across the bottom of the piece, right up against the bottom, silver washi tape.
  2. De-boss the Champagne Foil Sheet by running piece through the Big Shot with the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Folder. How to put it in the folder:  With the Stampin' Up! logo facing down,
put the foil sheet inside the folder, foil side facing up. The top two-thirds of the snowflake should be over the foil sheet (refer to picture on the right). Attach the foil sheet across the top of the Whisper White base layer, right up against the top, gold washi tape.
  3. Wrap the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon across the card where the foil sheet and DSP meet, and attach the ribbon ends to the back of the base layer using Fast Fuse Adhesive. Fold the Thick Whisper White piece in half to form the card base (fold on the left). Attach the de-bossed snowflake/DSP piece to the card base.
  4. Stamp the large snowflake stamp in the Cheers to the Year Stamp Set onto the Whisper White square piece using the Smoky Slate Classic Stampin' Pad. Brush the Embossing Buddy across the snowflake. Stamp the "Joy" stamp onto the center of the snowflake using the VersaMark Pad. Pour Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder over the word, and tap off the excess powder. Melt the powder until shiny using the Heat Tool (heat embossing technique). Die-cut the snowflake out with the #3 circle die (with the smallest circle die being #1) from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. Die-cut the Gold Glimmer Paper with the #4 scallop circle die (with the smallest scallop circle being #1). Attach the snowflake circle to the center of the gold glimmer scallop circle using Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  5. Punch both ends of the Whisper White banner piece with the Banner Triple Punch. The piece is narrower than the center guide in the punch, so make sure to center the piece in-between the sides of the center guide. Attach the snowflake/scallop circle piece to the center of the banner.
  6. Cut a gold snowflake from the Foil Snowflakes in half. Attach the bottom of the scallop circle to the top of the half snowflake (straight edge of snowflake on top). The straight edge of the snowflake should be just under the banner. Attach the whole thing to the center of the de-bossed snowflake using Stampin' Dimensionals.
